Hi Fred.Unless your ring gear is broken all you need to do is flip it over.Just take a brass punch knock it off and then a slight amout of heat flip it over put it back on moving it about 20 degrees from where it was this puts it on a pattern that's new to the ring gear engine always stops on compressen stroke thus the starter engages the same four spots all the time giving it little turn from where it was gives it a new area.
