There are no advantages. Your tractor has
worked just fine for 50 years with a 6 volt
system. All the reasons I have heard for the
conversion are just excuses not valid reasons.
If you really need a 12 volt electrical system
just buy a tractor made after the late 60's. The
engines in most older tractors do not turn fast
enough to excite an one wire alternator
resulting in the alternator not charging.
