Converting isn't hard and there are many articles to help you do it. Deciding why or if you want to convert is more difficult for some. The reason most convert is simple math. The cost of a voltage regulator alone, for a generator system, will run you about $50. The cost of a Delco 10SI internally regulated alternator is only about $40. If your battery needs changing anyway, few can justify fixing the 6v system unless they will be keeping the tractor for show. Even if the show circuit is an option in the future, you can keep all the old stuff for re-installation later. Alternators will still charge at low RPM too. Good luck.
