I managed to remove the 3/4" front axle pivot pin from my 1955 M-H Pacer. I did mushroom the end and had to grind back to 3/4". I have to unanswered questions... 1. Is the pivot pin soft steel. Can I chop a 5 " section of a 3/4 " concrete form stake and use it for my pivot pin, or would I be better off going to a steel supply and purchsing a length of 3/4" hardend round stock? 2. Can the 3/4" ID X 7/8" OD pivot pin bushing be replaced by the standard replacement bushing material from a well stocked hardware store? The original looks to be a combination of brass/copper??? Thanks for the tips. Bob
