I was in D.R and Haiti in November...Wow..what a country. D.R looks like something out of a drug cartell movie. Trucks bouncing around on dirt roads. No street signs..etc. ect.Poorer than poor. They showed us a resovoir project to supply drinking water. There were probably 20 people with hand tools. 1 CAT dozer and one CAT excavator. Thats it! Saw some people building a house. They laid out a house outline using lime. Then they dug down a few inches to get everything level. Then they laid block on the ground. Build the walls up, then Poured a flat slab on top for a roof. I think that was a "good house". The bad ones were wood with a tin roof.
