Your doing a good job by thinking about this, its no fun but comes to us all. You say that they are in poor health so I cant see how they would be insurable, I dont know the companies other than Farm Bureau who I have had good experience with. Our fmily did have payment due form a family members life policy he had at work - it took months to collect for no good reason other than they just chose not to pay so I would be very wary. The prepaid suggestion is a good one or why not just start a family savings plan now, everyone chiping in monthly.
