First, why do you want to spend the money to change from a 6V system to a 12V system? A 6V system "properly maintained", will perform just as well as a 12V system, and 6V parts are available. The only difference is a 12V system is more modern. If you are sure this is what you want to do, go to the link shown at the top of this page, or read the many posts on this subject in the YT H.Ferguson page. I sound negative because I have seen numerous people who think switching to 12V's will correct all the bad connections, corroded wiring, and needed tuneups, but it won't. My TO30 is all orginal, and it has started reliably in -10F weather. Good luck with your project!
