It seems like no matter what country it is the government runs about the same way. The only reason I can come up with for the idocracy within the system is that once the people get into office it further reinforces their idea that they know everything there is to know about everything and in some way that makes them better than all of the rest of us dumb common folks that put them there. So, basically even when they screw up they are still better than us so they get slapped on the hand and told to go do something else instead of really being punished....
