I think the space you need varies depending on the space you have. I know I can scatter parts to you-know-where and back if I have the room. Don't be afraid to make notes and label things if you aren't familiar with the machine. I do Olivers and have enough experience to tear apart a 77 or 88 and get it back together without doing a lot of notes, etc. But if I was to do something else that would be a different story.
