There is a limit switch in the motor for designated "parking" of wipers. This will stop wipers. If this switch is faulty or does not actuate, wipers will continue another cycle or more. Sometimes loose ground caused by rusting metal or screws can do this. Wiper arms bent or installed incorrectly can also stop parking limit from doing its job. There is a ground strap make sure its clean and tight. Circuit board probably can cause this also. Take your pick. Last 3 circuit boards I bought came from china and lasted month or so. No warranty on electric parts in my area. Good luck
