Both my parents where born and raised on farms and my dads family farm is still owned by one of my cousins. My moms family farm is now owned by who knows who. I was never raised on a farm but most of the time we lived close to farming areas and my dad being a preacher had many farm family in his church. When I was around 10 or so the teacher asked us what we wanted to be when we grew up. I said a farmer and he said you would never be able to do that since we did not have or come from money.
