Truck driving is not rocket science,but if you want to see what working 120 hours a week or more,and getting way less than minimum wage for it,drive a truck for a couple of months.Lots of people think they can do it,but very few do it more than 2 years. The stock market put lots of truckers out of business.Half of the flatbeds in one day one time.I dont know how many familys that was but it was more than there were people farming if I remember right.A million or more maybe.Probably lots more than that when you figure mechanics and tire places and fuel dealers and other stuff that got "concentrated"that day.Good old stock market caused the price of fuel to go up and owner operators couldnt get a surcharge overnight.
