Thanks all for the replys, Greg what will it do to ruin the shingles? DB cooling in the summer is not an issue. I know heat rises, but don't see how having a warmer attic in the winter won't help in some way (even if it is minimal) to add warmth to the rest of the building. It is a shallow pitch, about 4-12 so painting it would be easy. With my spray rig I can do the whole surface in about an hour. My concern was just not to ruin the shingles.
