Al, there is an OEM one wire alternator used by GM. It is called the 27SI and is used on medium duty trucks. You can convert a 3 wire 10SI to 1 wire by installing the regulator and charge rate adapter from a 27SI. The charge rate adapter fits in the regulator plug hole and has a red plastic cap which can be installed in 4 positions giving 4 charge voltages. I have only used 1 as they are very spendy, about 10 times what a non adjustible 1 wire regulator cost me, + the 27SI regulator needs an extra jumper wire inside the alternator and does bleed off a small ammount of power where the other kind does not.
