Installed two Goodman units in our 100 year old house 7 years ago and have not had a minutes trouble with them. Price was very reasonable.
Installed Trane into parent house about 10 years ago and had to have a blower fan motor replaced last week. You can only put Trane parts in a Trane unit, they will not accept universial parts, fan motor alone was over $400. Not a bad unit but the repair and parts are very pricey.
I was a do-it-yourselfer and installed the Goodman myself but I know where I can buy universial parts a whole lot cheaper than Trane.
Either units are good, just look at costs down the road.
