Old, it seems like you'll have to go farther north than my neck of the woods to find the good warm stuff. I can find all kinds of style, but nothing that'll cover my butt and my head without ordering from some expensive catalog.
When I was in Saskatchewan a couple of years ago my goal was to find a good warm coat that I could wear for good occasions. At a surplus store in a mall in Prince Albert I found just what I was looking for. It's long, has a gigantic, well insulated hood, longer sleeves, and it's just plain warm. And it only cost me something like $40.00 Canadian. I could never find something like that here in NW Iowa. I did have to get used to that left-hand zipper the Canadians use. Jim

For several years I had been driving by a farm house on the west side of Indianapolis that had a John Deere combine parked in high weeds in a lot behind the house. The gentleman no longer farmed because the entire area was developed with housing and light industry. I had stopped several times and knocked on the door but no one would answer.
