We use Cottonwood or Aspen for kindling or for the main fire in early and late season. On days like this when it is -20 degrees we are using Elm, a bit of Oak, some Maple and Ironwood. We burn what ever grows out there and what ever is of poor quality as a crop tree. Not much Osage here in NW Wisconsin!
