A big tractor like you mention can do a lot of work in a few hours with the right implements(like what you saw with it). If you're part time farming, you can still carry on quite a crop operation with big equipment and big seed, fertilizer, and fuel investment. Then you can sweat it out like most farmers that farm full time do now. If you're just "Hobby Farming" and can afford it, a big tractor and a few big tools will let you do quite a bit in a few hours.
