I posted a couple of days ago about the float and part of the float arm coming off of the sender in the fuel tank on the 630 and banging around in the tank, flaking off some of the foam in the float.
I have the tank cleaned and ready to go. Now it's time to concentrate on the damaged float. It's made of some kind of styrofoam type product that's coated with a shellac to keep the foam from flaking off. The stuff I call the shellac is worn off of about a third of the foam, exposing the foam. I'd like to get some kind of a shellac painted back over the foam but I have no idea what to use. Is there something available that's gas/ethanol proof? Will anything even stick to the foam now that it's been floating around in gasoline? I'm out of my league on this project. Jim
