This shouldn't be viewed as a political post, but rather a matter concerning law enforcement and national security.
The only reason I can come up with for the Feds actions in this matter is that they wanted to keep an investigation quiet in hopes of catching more fish.
If the feds want to cast doubt on the man and wife's testimony they will have a tough time doing that to an attorney especially if other passengers agree with him. Sign of a cover up, for some strange reason, will be if the feds start digging up dirt on the atorney and his wife.
