I knew this question would bring out some interesting answers. These guys have about covered all of the bases. I have had experience with the Farmall letter series, the JD letter series and the JD number series. I own a JD 70 and a Super M. Both good machines. But you ask about mowing and ease of use: on those two issues, my choice would be the Farmall. Hand clutches just weren't meant for some jobs and mowing is one of them. Like someone said in a response, both good machines but for all day use, you'll like the Farmall better.
