Who does everybody on this board buy bulk diesel delivered to the farm from? Marathon? I also just hobby farm 20 or so acres these days and run gas tractors. I might come across a diesel tractor at an upcoming auction. Since I am going to be using off-raod diesel only, I can buy direct from the Marathon diesel guy or whoever at 40 some cents cheaper than paying at the pump for road diesel right? Road diesel is a yellowish green color, looks like Mountain Dew. All of the farmers in my area who have diesel trucks(most do) run red off-road diesel in their trucks, often pumping directly from the bulk delivery tank in the bed. The goverment taxes them so bad, especially land taxes around here that are high, I don't blame them, it's their way of getting their money back. Anybody know of someone caught for doing this? I don't think too many cops carry something to draw the diesel from the tank to check for the right color. I think the fine is $600.
