From what I have read on other forums is that wholesale prices are going down like a rock right now. The problem we all have as farmers is the whole buy every thing retail, sell every thing wholesale, and pay ship'n both ways. Prices were still very high here last spring. Of the three suppliers around here two got burnt buy drinking their own koolaid in 98 when every one said it's going up, up and never come'n down so they filled up to the rim on the high dollar 98 stuff, then was stuck with it when the prices droped. The third bought late after the fall and only had to undersell to other two joints. From what I have seen and heard all the local joints are pretty empty right now and should be able to sell at the lower rates as wholesale prices fall.
