I think you are being toooo harsh on Homeland Security in this case, the flight originated in Amsterdam so you would have thought they would have picked it up but thereagain a Security Officer on the news tonight said it is near impossible to detect so there would be a reason to try and invent a new means of detection. You will find all Western Countries with be initiating protocols to counter this new threat.It is not only a USA problem.
