Some just can't seem to grasp the concept that you can disagree without calling the other party an idiot. Some of the actual smart guys on here get a little edgy when challenged, but generally keep it reasonably civil. A few, however, just go over the top, then POOF. That's especially exasperating when one takes some time to try to post something thoughtful, and everyone else is doing likewise, then along comes the jerk who gets the whole thread jettisoned.
I don't think the poofs occur because the moderator disagrees with the opinion being expressed- It seems like it only happens when the personal attacks and name-calling start.
I did reread some of that stuff you referred to, and agree that at least one is trying a little harder now. Good for him.
