Obie, I use dry ice to put dry sleeves in, it works great for that, but what I was wondering on your job, if you have the engine out,and the crank removed, you could turn the engine upside down, and put the dry ice inside the piston shrinking it away from the cyl. just a thought. but do be carfull, dry ice is 195 degrees below zero. luck.
