The best thing I can say about ether starting fluid is that it's not doing your engine any good. Low compression and/or worn injectors are the most common causes of the problem you're having. Since the tractor has been idle for so many years there could some stuck rings that will loosen up with use, but I wouldn't count on it. The failure to start is a symptom of a problem that's not likely to fix itself. Sorry I don't have anything more encouraging to offer...Al English
