Well, not to start a hissy fit, but I just finished doing a 6 page College English research paper on alternative fuels. Now I'm not saying global warming does or doesn't exist-I live in MN and it doesn't seem like there is much warming going on around here! The only problem that I can see if global warming doesn't exist is for guys like us who enjoy old tractors, old cars, and pretty much anything that burns petroleum, is that eventually we will run out of it (maybe not permanently but for quite some time). It is proven that oil wells go dry, and without slowing our consumption (which means switching to an alternative fuel for some things) they will continue doing so at a faster rate as global demand keeps escalating. I am not saying we need to stop burning oil, what I am saying is that we need to take advantage of all of the other technologies out there (solar, wind, wave, etc.) in order to SAVE some of this fuel so that our kids can enjoy the tractors and cars we seem to take for granted. Otherwise we will have to convert them over to some goofy contraption that turns melted butter into water which in turn turns into steam to power our tractor or some dang thing. I would drive an electric car to work if it meant I could drive my motorcycle or tractors, etc. for a longer period of time. Just my two cents.
