A IH 504 or 340 are both good tractors. Around my area you can find them both in the $2000-3500 range depending on shape. You can get them both in a row crop or a utility versions. The utilities are nice because they are low and stable, and very menuverable. They are excelent tractors that won't give you much trouble if they were properly mainteined by the previous owner and countinue to be maintained.
