No dought that neccessity is The Mother of Invention. Sometimes you just have to do what you have to do to get by. Pepper or ginger in the radiator, bananas in the differential, a nylon as a fan belt, a screw in a steel radial to stop a leak and a million other things. None of these "fixes" are the same as making a proper repair. These liquid - mechanic in a can fixes, should be listed under "crude-crafted", since they certainly do not come under the heading of Repairs. Do you want your wife or kids driving 70 MPH on a tire that was "repaired" with Fix-a-Flat? There are temporary fixes and there are repairs - do not confuse the two.
