I put in a new GM thermostat in my 2000 Chev. 2500 with a 6.0 litre. Do you need to have a vacuum system to get all the air out? I spent over 3 hours trying to get enough coolant back in. I had to loosen the upper rad several times, then let it idle, hoping to burp it, only to have it start overflowing at the coolant tank. Is there some special procedure on these newer trucks? On older models you can have the thermostat changed and rad. filled in less than half an hour. Very frustrating for sure. Dave
