Clayton, Mine is the simple style like yours. Not sure, but I think you can use either with a little plumbing work. My oil gauge is separate from the sediment bowl.

On the other type, oil pressure has to be there to provide gas flow. This could save an engine I suppose if oil pressure dropped and you didn't notice, it kills the gas, shutting the engine down. The downside is if the diaphram in the sediment bowl leaks, gas usually runs back down the little tubing into the crankcase, diluting your oil with gas. My uncle's has done this on 2 different occasions.

I see nothing wrong with the simple sediment bolw assembly. Your dealer should be able to get either one. I hope I was clear in my description. Email if I can help any more.
