I made up a pair using truck chain off a Walter
snowfighter. It had 9.00x20 single and dual chains. I put a cross chain every fourth link on
the side chain. They are heavy to install but
work great. I used two pry bars to open the hooks
on the cross chains then just hammered them
closed again when in place. Not easy but it can
be done without the special tool.
