Dist Plugs

I'am trying to install new points in my Ford 9n,front dist., cant get the points to adjust to .015, could the adjustment screw be worn out? Also i'm installing new plug wires, where is no.1 spark plug, at the front of the head near the radiator or at the back of the head. I know the fireing order is 1243, but thats all. Thanks Dave
