I bought a brand new 1949 Ford convertible back then. It was the worst car that Ford ever made, i think. I couldn't keep the doors closed, had to tie them shut-almost lost my girl-friend on a sharp turn! I hit a pot-hole, and the tie rod bent down almost to the pavement, making the wheels splay out to the side! The convertible top went bad in less than a year. the clutch slipped on a steep hill. The bad steering wore out the tires in 3 months! The paint lost its shine in a year, and had to have it repainted, at my cost! I traded it for a 1948 MG Roadster, right hand drive, and that was a great little fun car!
