The current Dubuque project had a complete engine & trans disasembly, new everything that showed wear past factory specs. Have over $4000.00 US in parts & machine shop alone. Tractor was 90% complete & had been running three years previous.
$ depends on what you find & how restored you want. There is a lot of difference between a gasket set,rings,bearings & valve grinding "rebuild" job.
Compared to a "rebuild" with rebore, oversize pistons, new studs,new bolts,fresh cam, new valves, guides, seats,resize rods etc. And that is just some exapmles of engine work alone.
