A jumbo sized voice coil motor attached
to the tail section of an airplane used for
modal analysis (vibration testing) has been
known to make a human being sick to their
stomach when driven at a rate of 5 hertz (cycles).
The person has to be in the airplane during the
test of course and the aircraft has sensors or acelerometers mounted all over the aircraft
frame and shell to measure frequency response.
I wonder if IH ever did vibration analysis on their equipment?
