You simply wait until some kind of claim is made against you (whether it be a letter from her or her lawyer, or a lawsuit), then you turn it over to your insurance company. It's called "tendering your defense", and provision for it will be in your insurance policy.
In fact, you are REQUIRED to tender your defense to them- that way, they get to hire their choice of attorney, and they stay away from the situation where you hire some yahoo, he loses the case for you, then you tell insurance company to pay.
There's really nothing "defensive" you can do- its up to her to prove her case. If its been a month, I'd think she has moved on.
