Don't know much about the Fergies, but the 600 is slightly taller/longer/heavier than the 8N, but not by much. All Fords from '53 on have live hydraulics, and the 5-speed models from '55 on COULD have live PTO. For example, a 650 would have the 5-speed and non-live PTO, but a 660 would have the 5-speed with live PTO. 4-speed Fords never had live PTO, except for those that were equipped with the rare (and not too robust) aftermarket kit (which wasn't a true live pto). I've yet to see one of those in working condition.
