If I recall correctly there were a few different lengths of belts so I think the best one is the one that works for your application. I think the belts for thrashing machines were extra long to keep the steam engines back away from the flamable straw. If you buy an old one, take a close look at it. I've seen some older belts that were in good condition and some were just junk.
