You kids still have a bunch of nuckles to skin up. I was born in 1921 at York, Nebraska. We got our first tractor in 1936, an Allis-Chalmers WC WITH RUBBER UP FRONT!!!!! We were the talk of the country!!! In 1938 in Voc-ag I built a mounted cultivator for it (copied of the JD) with levers on the tractor!!!! But you had to stop and shift into neutral to run the levers, but that was modern!!! Then in 1939 I won Grand Champion Farm Mechanic in the Voc-Ag contests in Lincoln. After college and 4 years of military I got mixed up in the banking business. Now that I have retired I got back into the farm mechanic business with 8.5 tractors and 7.5 acres out here at Paonia, Colorado. I have: '29 John Deere D, '39 Allis Chalmers WC, '41 John Deere H, '44 John Deere A, '54 Allis-Chalmers CA, '71 Ford 2000, (all above restored), '37 Allis-Chalmers WC for parts, and a couple garden tractors. My wife tries to teach me how old I am and about the time I learn it she up and changes it!!! I think I'm 79, but what difference does it make (well some).
