I just watched a video of this RR in action last night. If you can't get there, the video is from www.goodtimes.com It shows 3 Shays and 1 Hiesler in action. Lew is right, the vertical piston and the side drive shaft are unique in steam power. The Hiesler also uses a drive shaft but it is under the center of the engine and harder to see in the video.
