I think the reason most people are so passionate about their machine is the fact that they paid a good chunk of money for it. A new machine is a source of pride, showing that you are doing well enough to move up a step to a more modern machine. On the flip side, with older machines people are passionate because you can see and feel all the hard work these machines put in during their time. At one time they were the top technology and it can't be forgotten.
