County was a UK company based near London. They specialized in converting tractors to FWD or MFD, mainly Fords, but also some other makes. They also converted tractors to high clearance, tracks, forestry, converted some light and medium trucks to FWD, built their own Ford based forward control tractor etc. When Ford started producing MFD tractors that basically put County out of business. Roadless and Muir-Hill also did similar conversion work to Ford tractors. My dad ran all three makes over the years. They were all pretty tough tractors. In the UK, they have become popular with collectors and for working in bad conditions. An equal wheel FWD tractor will run circles around the same sized MFD in the mud. Chris
