I remember my Dad telling me about getting a side delivery hay rake during WWII. He went to Tucker's (IHC-Farmall) in Forest Hill to get one. It was a matter of getting a rake or Quit farming.
Mr Tucker said there were none avaialable. Dad said "get the parts book. We will order one in pieces!" After about 2 hours of writting down numbers and filling out paper work and they weren't really started yet Mr Tucker said " Hold on, I'll have one in a week." He found one and Dad had it in a week!
