This is a switch that removes power from the cruise control when the brake pedal is stepped on.My truck did not have the problem switch but the Ford dealer put on a wire harness with a fuse on it.The switch has power on it full time.Most people would think its a brake lite switch.THe brake lite switch is under the dash.The bad switch is square and made by Texas Instruments.Look at your master cylinder.My 77 chev has a big cast iron master cylinder.My 96 Ford has a small aluminum and plastic master cylinder.I call my 96 Ford Old Leaky.Ive had 3 brake lines fail, 1 wheel cylinder blow out,gas tank leak and power steering hose leak in 10000 miles.
