And when the tractor broke to the point the farmer couldn't fix it himself, he had to have a dealer he could depend on to fix it right the first time. Farmalls ruled in this area in the 40's and 50's mostly because of outstanding service departments in some local dealerships. I commute 22 miles each way to work every day and don't give it much thought. In 1955, we didn't go 22 miles from home more than a few times a year!
