I used hot water to free up my JD420 (upright engine). Plumb the bottom radiator pipe from the block to a tank you can apply heat to, fill the block to the top with water and let it boil and cool several times. The head was off mine so I rigged a bar across the block over the piston and used the head bolts to put pressure down. HTH
