Always a good feeling to be done. I have a few more days to go up here. My 95 day corn was not to bad it averaged 26% and 52 test weight. Now I"am in some 100 day that was planted April 24. Its the uglyest nastyest corn I"ve ever combined. Its running 30% moisture and 42 test weight. The ears have gray hair growing on them along with the black mold. I have the cylinder set in the small grain range at 750 RPM and there are still a few kernals here and there on the cobs. I feel sorry for the guys that take their corn to the elevator. After the shrink, drying charge, test weight dock and FM dock they are not going to have much left. The local ethonol plant is rejecting loads under 48 TW. Looks like they are going to have a tough time finding corn if they don"t relax that requirement. I can"t wait for this harvest to be over and to forget this year in its entirety!
