Those things are "battery terminals" Look carefully at the wires (cables) that are connected to the terminals. What color are they? If they are red, it's most likely they are cheap auto cables. You need to get a set of cables made from 00 gauge wire.It's BLACK. An implement dealer or good welding or fabrication, maybe diesel engine shop can make some up for you. Kinda spendy though but it's just gotta be done on the old 6V systems.
